Browser requirements

SuperSearch has been tested with Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 1.0.6/1.5, and Safari for the Mac.

Known issues:

• Firefox:
  Search refresh screens do not flash.
  [Firefox users may wish to install this IE tab plugin. It allows you to open selected sites within a Firefox tab, but using IE as your browser in that tab. ]
• IE5 on Macs
  If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 on Mac to access SuperSearch, you will get an error message "Security failure. Personal certificate required" when you try to log-in. Please use a different browser such as Safari, Firefox or Camino on Mac and you will be able to log-in to SuperSearch successfully.

Popup windows: SuperSearch employs pop-up windows so that you can view Source It options while retaining your results screen in the background. If you are having trouble with pop-up windows, make sure your browser is not set to block them. Add *.unimelb.edu.au to you list of allowed sites. SuperSearch generally re-uses existing windows for subsequent pop-ups.

Accessibility

We are aware that there are some accessibility issues with SuperSearch. We are working with the supplier to address these issues as soon as possible.
